Spanish dry sausage
Also called "espetec" (Catalan name), the Catalan whip (or fuet) is a Spanish Catalan charcuterie, more precisely dry sausage with a small casing. This is the rack of tenderloin, one of the noblest parts of the pork which goes into the production of this dry charcuterie.
The seasoning and the long drying that it undergoes make it possible to obtain an almost fat-free meat with an exquisite aroma and flavor for this Espetec, Catalan dry sausage.
As with all our products, our "espetec" is designed with respect for local craftsmanship and sold at a direct producer price. The raw materials used in its composition are of European origin and carefully chosen.
Tasting tips
Fuet can be eaten on its own or as an aperitif. To make tapas, cut it into thin slices of about 0.5 cm and place them on bread. Cover with a little extra virgin olive oil. You can accompany these tapas au fuet with a glass of wine (to be consumed in moderation) but also with green or black olives.
Our Catalan whisk contains essentially pork meat wrapped in an edible natural casing, milk proteins, salt, spices and natural preservatives. It has an average weight of 130 g.
Catalan fuet can be stored for a long period of 5 to 6 months.
So for your next aperitif, don't say "Spanish dry sausage" but "fuet catalan espetec"!
